Water purification

About the project
Current situation:
As the world's population continues to grow, especially in undeveloped countries, and living conditions deteriorate due to climate change, the amount of clean water available per person is decreasing. Drinking unpurified water puts people at risk of contracting serious diseases. This is particularly dangerous for children, who have not yet developed their immune systems. In the end, this leads to 2.2 million deaths every year. Therefore, many people boil their water to purify it from potentially harmful elements. Unfortunately, heating up the water requires the use of polluting woodstoves or coal. This does not only hurt the environment but increases the pollution of the air in households as well. The main way to solve this issue is the distribution of filtering systems. Simultaneously
Project:
Using microscopic pores in clay allows our system to purify water just using gravity, removing the need of other filtering options for 2 to 5 years. Certified by the Ugandan Ministry of Water and Environment for quality as high as the one of bottled or boiled water.
