Efficient Cookstoves

About the project
Current situation
Billions of people are using polluting fuels and energy inefficient technologies to cook, including the combustion of solid fuels like plastic or rubber and biomass such as wood, coal or crop residues. They lack access to renewable combustibles and need to work with self-made stoves out of natural materials. This traditional cooking practice produces 2 to 5 percent of annual greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. The release of emissions when cooking inside homes is responsible for over four million premature deaths each year. We can address and solve this problem using simple technologies commonly used in developed regions of the planet. The two major ways to reduce pollution are the increase of cookstove efficiency and the usage of fuels with a high degree of sustainability.
Project
Starting in Q4 2022 we will distribute one million cookstoves in 12 month to households in Nigeria. Our cookstoves increase the fuel efficiency by 71% while reducing over 80% of the emissions.
